04 / Your questions
Before we begin.
How do I brief an architect in Hargeisa?
Describe how you live and use the house: room sizes, light, storage, the entry and how the house sits on the plot, plus the plot dimensions and orientation.
What should I consider when planning a house in Hargeisa?
Hargeisa is a highland capital with a mild, dry climate and cooler nights than the coast. The milder highland air means less salt exposure than the coast, so standard finishes and frames last well, while the cooler nights make good roof insulation worth the cost.
Why does the brief matter?
The brief decides the layout, the room sizes and the feel of the house, so a clear brief avoids changes later.
